The Ones to Watch: EAST END PRINTS

If you’ve not heard about this group of artists before then today is your lucky day!  EAST END PRINTS launched in December, bringing us a brand new range of prints from 40 emerging and established artists, illustrators, designers, printmakers and photographers.  A visual treat!

Initially started in 2006 as the East End Arts Club, the collective was formed in order to create group shows around a common theme. Artist-turned-curator-turned-publisher Helen Edwards started exhibiting the works after seeing artists friends turned down by galleries. The exhibitions have been growing each year, culminating in 150 artists responding to the Tate the Biscuit proverb show at Shoreditch Town Hall Basement December 2009. For The One Ton Show, artists responded to lyrics about London and sold over 100 prints and originals. Many artists have gone on to have successful gallery representation and licensing deals.

As a result EAST END PRINTS evolved out of the need for high quality, digital artist prints. The range features artists, print-makers, illustrators and graphic designers and prices start at just £25… the idea is to keep the work fresh and affordable without compromise in the quality.

Past press speaks for itself!… WGSN & le cool have both noted EEP as the ones to watch, Design Week did a feature on their hugely successful One Ton show, while they took part in the East London Design Show in December, and recently had a pop-up shop at Maiden.  Throughout all of this they continue to bring new and exciting artists to the forefront of art publishing.  Very clever people!
