High 5 is a brand new project from Ben Dodgson and Chris Lees of Design Supremo, celebrating 5 years of their contemporary online art gallery by showcasing the work of 5 outstanding creatives.

Ian Anderson, Andy Smith, Natsko Seki, Paul Farrell and Stephen Kenny are the 5 artists who have been invited to take part in the project, each given the same brief – to design a one colour, A2 poster based on the theme ‘High 5’. The prints are available for £65 each (edition of 25), numbered and signed by the artist.

To accompany the project is a short film providing interviews with the artists as well as footage of the processes involved in creating each print.

Established in 2007 by Ben Dodgson, Design Supremo grew from a need for a personal creative outlet without any corporate restraints. Ben soon realised this was something which would appeal to other designers too, and so he began to feature other people’s work on the website.  Design Supremo is now an online art print and poster gallery, showcasing and selling affordable prints from international artists and designers.

Ian Anderson founded Sheffield-based The Designers Republic in the mid-80’s.  The studio became legendary for its anti-establishment aesthetics while simultaneously embracing brash consumerism and the uniform style of corporate brands, such as Orange and Coca-Cola.

Paul Farrell is a Bristol based artist and illustrator inspired by his knowledge of nature and interest in the graphic arts. Before concentrating on a career as an artist Farrell spent 25 year’s working as a  graphic designer in London.

Stephen Kenny work from his studio in East London.  In addition to producing letterpress prints his commercial work includes book covers, LP and CD covers and branding.

Natsko Seki is a Japanese artist living in London working as an illustrator, animator and a graphic designer.  We’re huge fans of Seki’s work, read more about her on Here & Now.

Andy Smith’s work combines illustration and typography to create images that have humour, energy and optimism. He has worked for many worldwide clients including Nike, Orange, Mercedes and Expedia.
