Wondering Around Wandering

Wondering Around Wandering is a new project by Mike Perry, a New York based designer and interdisciplinary artist.  His aim is to host a  3 month, free community exhibition and event space in Brooklyn, with workshops, screenings, gatherings, open discussions and much more.  He wants to offer a space that will be an evolving environment, where visitors will be able to freely explore and create their own unique experience.

Using Kickstarter, an independent funding platform, the goal was to raise $30,000 by today’s deadline (if the full sum wasn’t achieved none of the funding would be released).  Everyone who donates receives a ‘reward’, for example donate $2 or more and you’ll receive a 11″ x 17″ signed print, while if you pledge $8000 or more you’ll be given a special edition Mike Perry painting.  We’re very pleased to see that the full amount has been reached, just in time!  You can read all about the project and the various ‘rewards’ here, where you can still donate to the scheme.

Mike Perry is originally from Kansas City, Missouri and attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.  He creates sculpture projects and limited-edition silkscreens, curates books and contributes to literary magazines. Clients include a number of editorial and commercial clients such as Apple, The New York Times, Dwell, Target, Urban Outfitters, Aldo, and Nike. In addition to his commercial, nonprofit, and personal artwork, he has also published extensively, including Pulled, his 2011 book about screenprinting.
